Historic Board

 

Our board consists of the following positions and committees:

President

The President presides at Association meetings and meetings of the Board, preserves order and regulates debate, supervises the affairs of the Association and attends to its executive matters. He/she or an alternate so designated represents the Association as the liaison to other organizations as needed.

Vice President

The Vice-President presides over meetings when the President is absent and assists the President as needed. The Vice-President succeeds the President in the event that position is vacated.

Treasurer

The Treasurer has general charge of the funds of the Association and makes reports of all receipts and disbursements at the regular monthly meeting. The Treasurer, under the direction of the Board, pays all properly certified bills in a timely manner. In the event of the temporary absence or disability of the Treasurer, his or her duties are performed by a person designated by the President.

Secretary

The Secretary keeps the minutes of the meetings of the Board and provides them to the board for approval at the next regular meeting. The Secretary reports activities of the Association to the membership. The Secretary is responsible for receiving, filing, and retaining all Association records, including relevant newspaper clippings and other materials pertaining to the work of the Association. In the event of the temporary absence or inability of the Secretary, his or her duties are performed by a person designated by the President.

Membership

This committee is responsible for recruiting new members and conducting York Chester Historic District Neighborhood Welcome activities. It will also conduct an annual review and recommend Membership Benefits and Membership Levels for Board approval.

Environmental Enhancement

This committee is responsible for environmental monitoring and improvement projects of the Association, conducting the Association’s Yard of the Month, and monitoring maintenance of neighborhood signs. This committee encourages and promotes the preservation of old structures in the neighborhood and work with other organizations interested in preservation.

Website

This committee is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Association’s online presence.

Public Relations

This committee monitors issues of importance to the Association, produces the Association’s newsletter, and coordinates all publicity deemed necessary by the Board.

Special Events

This committee organizes and conducts the Association’s membership meetings and social gatherings. This committee also organizes and conducts the Association’s Homes Tour every other year in coordination with the Public Relations committee and Environmental Enhancement Committees.
