Rules and Regulations for the Historic District
While our Association is not the regulatory agent, (the Historic District Commission and city of Gastonia are responsible for permitting and setting regulations) we will use this page to help interested citizens be aware of regulations affecting the neighborhood.
Please check back often as we continue to add content and features for our community.
The Historic District Commission
The HDC is a 10-member board of citizens appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The commission reviews applications for Certificate of Appropriateness, and advises property owners concerning the treatment of the historical and visual characteristics of properties within the District. The Commission meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 181 South Street, Gastonia. The public is invited to attend these meetings.
